How bad is the fatality rate for USMC EOD techs?

My boyfriend of a year is leaving soon for Afghanistan. His company just lost a guy. I'm trying my best to prepare myself for this deployment and I am looking for as much information about this as possible. He doesn't want to tell me much for fear of scaring me away, but I told him no matter what I was going to be here. I'd just like to do as much as I can to prepare myself for this deployment and what it means being an EOD techs significant other.
