Is he trying to imply something to me? Is there a hidden meaning behind it?

A guy that I really like told me last week that he went to the beach alone and he saw a lot of people with their significant other. Is he trying to imply something to me? We talk almost everyday about family, friends and life in general. He always says hi from across the room and initiates conversation. I was wondering if he feels the same way and likes me back too? What do you think?
