Why does sex affect my heart?

I think I feel love in my heart depending on how good the sex/desire is. I feel it is although 80% important for me to feel love. I was crazy in love with someone else, but after having sex with another, i started liking the other guy. I am a girl...but do guys feel this way? Or do both feel that sex is important for a significant other/lover?
